Jacky Gray

Jacky competed and trained originally at St Ives Judo club, gained 1st Dan in 1974, was employed as judo coach at Carn Brea Leisure centre that same year.

She has regularly travelled and competed at National and International events, and was previously the assistant coach of the BJC ladies squad.

Jacky served on the BTC National technical committee in the capacity as a International referee and often attends National events as Senior referee coordinator.

She is the senior grade at Carn Brea judo club & gained 7th Dan 2017. 

Tom Gray

Tom has over 47 years of continued involvement in BJC judo & is an active Senior coach 6thDan. 

President of Carn Brea judo club, Tom is an International referee still attending regular events in the UK, and has served for many years on BJC Hq. 

Also President of the Isles of Scilly judo club and travels to the Islands annually for courses and grading's, which has been a regular journey for over 40 years

Janet Williams

Janet was the youngest ever Dan graded lady at age 15. She has competed nationally and internationally, is a level 1 & 2 coach & Cornwall area secretary.

 

Janet coaches the tots classes.

 

 

Andrew James

Andrew is a 3rd Dan black belt

He started judo at the age of 10 with the boys brigade. Within a year he was with Carn Brea Judo Club taking part in local, county and National events.

At the age of 17 Andrew got his 1st Dan black belt & was already competing and winning competitions at  local, county, national and international events.  At the age of 20 he was part of the under 21 year old BJC National squad.

He is a qualified couch, having taken his level  FPJ1&2, completed the child protection programme and is also a qualified first aider.

Sheila Ivey

Sheila has been doing judo for fifteen years and took up the sport to help her children and support them as a parent and has been doing judo ever since.

She achieved my first Dan in 2005 and her second Dan in 2011.

She is a qualified area referee and referees at Club, Area, National and International events and competitions at various venues in the UK.

Sheila mainly teaches beginners and assists in the intermediate club sessions on Tuesday evenings.
